2015 Food Council Open House: Growing with the Next Generation

Please join the Homegrown Minneapolis Food Council in celebrating another year of growing, processing, distributing, eating and composting healthy, sustainable, locally grown foods. The event will feature a brief program including remarks from local notables, Minneapolis Public Schools Culinary and Nutrition Services staff and youth leaders, the 2015 Homegrown Heroes awards and 2015 Homegrown Highlights. The event will begin with an information fair and reception, including opportunities to provide feedback to the Food Council on local food policy priorities. Light refreshments will be served.
Submit a nomination for a “Homegrown Heroes” award (Deadline: November 2nd) As a part of our Annual Open House, the Homegrown Minneapolis Food Council recognizes and honors the accomplishments of community partners who help expand the community’s ability to grow, process, distribute, eat and compost more healthy, sustainable, locally grown foods. Any community member or organization is eligible to receive a Homegrown Heroes Award.

Minneapolis Animal Care and Control hosting meetings about proposed ordinance changes, including backyard chicken permits
Minneapolis Animal Care and Control is proposing ordinance changes to better reflect best practices for animal welfare, and the changing needs of the community. MACC is hosting three upcoming meetings to collect feedback from the public on the proposed changes.
