South High School students to perform at Carnegie Hall

MINNEAPOLIS – South High School juniors Marie Berlovitz and Ethan Davenport have been selected to take the stage at Carnegie Hall in the 2016 High School Honors Performance Series on Feb. 7, 2016. Berlovitz and Davenport achieved the performance honor in a selection process that began last spring with auditions. They join 750 singers selected from a field of 18,000. As finalists in this process, they are considered among the highest-rated high school performers worldwide. Berlovitz, a soprano II, and Davenport, a tenor I, are members of the South High Pop Singers and the Varsity Choir under the direction of music teacher Laurie Meyers. The Honors Performance Series was created to showcase accomplished individual high school performers on an international level by allowing them to study under master conductors and perform in Carnegie Hall.  Learn more at http://honorsperformance.org/home-program. Tickets are available for the Honors Choral Performance and can be purchased through the Carnegie Hall box office at http://www.carnegiehall.org/.
