City of Minneapolis: Green Zones Workgroup Recruitment

The City of Minneapolis is looking for interested stakeholders to be a part of the City of Minneapolis Green Zones Workgroup.

Green Zones are a placed-based strategy that is grounded in community planning processes and community led solutions to transform neighborhoods overburdened by pollution and other social and economic stressors into healthy thriving neighborhoods. The goal of Green Zones is to prioritize these neighborhoods to reduce pollution and to develop new planning strategies that are both equitable and sustainable.

The Workgroup has been tasked with analyzing data, developing Green Zones selection criteria, and developing community-based solutions aimed at improving health and supporting economic development using environmentally conscious efforts.

If you are interested in serving on the Green Zones Workgroup, please send an email with (1) your name, (2) your contact information, (3) the neighborhood or general area of the City (North, Southeast, etc.) in which you live or work (optional), (4) your background and reason(s) for wanting to participate in the Green Zone Workgroup (2-3 sentences), and (5) whether you represent one of the interests listed in the attached letter. The email should be sent  to by March 13, 2016. If you have questions, please contact Kelly Muellman by email or call 612-673-3014.
