Seeking Better Outcomes: Expanding Coverage, Enhancing Portability, Improving Plan Design, and Solving Retirement Income
Retirement plans, coverage and access, and improving outcomes for plan participants will be the focus of a forum in Minneapolis on March 10th, 1:00–5:30 p.m., at the Marquette Hotel’s Windows on Minnesota. The event is co-sponsored by The Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement (WISER) and Franklin Templeton Investments. Panels of financial industry experts will discuss the issues.
Dawn Simonson, MAAA Executive Director, will moderate a Minnesota panel that includes Commissioner Mike Rothman, MN Dept. of Commerce; Barbara Battiste, Director, Legislative Office on the Economic Status of Women; Mary Jo George, Associate Director, AARP Minnesota; LaRhae Knatterud, Director of Aging Transformation, MN Dept. of Human Services; and David Bonello, Esq., Attorney/Project Director, Upper Midwest Pension Rights (a service of MAAA). The forum’s keynote speakers will include Judy Mares, Employee Benefits Security Administration’s Deputy Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of Labor, and Tim Pawlenty, CEO and President, Financial Services Roundtable.
