Minneapolis Public Schools to celebrate start of 2016-17 school year with State of the Schools event
MINNEAPOLIS – Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) will celebrate the start of the 2016-17 school year by bringing together students, staff and members of the community at the 2016 State of the Schools event. Centered on the theme “MPS Strong,” the 2016 State of the Schools event will be an opportunity to assess where the district currently is and envision where it can go. Superintendent Graff will share his hopes to create an educational environment focused on students, invested in staff and engaged with the community. Student performances will mark the event, and before and after the event community partners will host a resource fair highlighting the services and support available to MPS staff. The 2016 State of the Schools event will be streamed live at mpls.k12.mn.us/stateoftheschools. Members of the media are welcome to attend, and a news conference will be held at the conclusion of the event.
