The next pair of community meetings to seek input on the planning for the Upper Harbor Terminal site will be:
Tuesday, June 27
MPRB headquarters, 2117 W. River Road N., second floor board room
Thursday, June 29
5:00 – 7:30 pm (presentation and group discussions 5:30 – 7:30 pm)
Juxtaposition Arts, 2007 Emerson Ave. N. NOTE MEETING LOCATION CHANGE
The general goal of this pair of meetings will be to discuss the riverfront destination, public realm, programming and public space amenities before the team plans to bring forward conceptual design drafts in July. All are welcome at both meetings. The Tuesday meeting will have snacks, and the Thursday open house will have food and supervised children’s activities.
Note: There also will be a Slow Roll the evening of June 29 that will leave from and return to the Juxtaposition Arts location. A Slow Roll is a fun, safe, inclusive (and free) bike ride for people of all ages and skill levels to learn about our amazing community. Participants will gather at 5:30 pm. The Roll will head out at 6:30 pm, returning about 7:30 pm. For information about Slow Roll: https://www.facebook.com/pg/SlowRollTC/about/.
If you haven’t already done so, please sign up for GovDelivery email updates on the UHT website (http://www.upperharbormpls.com) or watch for social media notices on Facebook, Twitter and NextDoor, as meetings may need to be adjusted. Information on the website and meeting notices also will provide more details about specific meetings and topics.
Summaries of the input received at the community meetings will be posted at http://upperharbormpls.com/community-engagement/summaries-meetings-engagement-opportunities/. (Note: It can take a while to compile the input and prepare it to be posted.)
An online survey to gather input about potential destinations at the site has been posted at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/June2017UpperHarborTerminal. In order to provide an additional input option for community members who weren’t able to attend the first pair of community meetings on May 30 and June 8, this survey poses questions that were asked at that first pair of meetings. The survey will be open through Monday, July 3.
Exclusive Rights Agreement Update
At its June 7 meeting, the full Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board approved the execution of the three-party exclusive rights agreement (ER Agreement) between the City, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) and master development team. Following approval by the Mayor, the agreement will be executed and then will guide the upcoming planning process in which the parties will collaborate, with community input, to formulate a plan for riverfront parkland and private development on the City-owned 48-acre Upper Harbor Terminal (UHT) site.
